Well it's that time of year again... the time of year when my dining table becomes a production facility for making beaded snowflake spines. Buying ready-made ones cost about $5 each, but they are relatively easy to make at home with just some wire, washers from Home Depot, and some Goop glue. Our beaded snowflake event in Del Mar this year is December 4, and I'm actually planning way ahead this time!!
I was sidetracked today, as I always am when looking something up on youtube.com, by an amazing video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSrHzOoDjag&feature=related. This is the type of thing that kids of all ages in school should be doing as part of the curriculum. This is why I started Hillside Artisans in the first place... to get kids to work with their hands and to become familiar enough with all types of art forms that they are never afraid of experimenting later in life. I admit I got choked up when I saw these kids on the video making their art piece. Maybe it'll inspire some of you as well.
This is our Hillside Artisans shop blog... enjoy!
